Kids under five banned from adult hotel pools in Dubai

Planning a weekend getaway in Dubai? There are some new rules regarding access to hotel pools in Dubai that you may need to be aware of.

The Dubai Municipality (DM) has issued a circular to hotels, reminding them that children aged below five are not allowed in adult swimming pools. According to DM, it was a reminder of pre-existing rules. It also specified that children must be accompanied by parents in the pool area at all times.

However, no reference has been made to any age restriction on children swimming in family pools in Dubai hotels.

The regulations are intended to protect public safety.

Dubai hotels were also reminded to provide a sufficient number of lifeguards with adequate qualifications and training.

Hotels also need to display safety instructions regarding the access of children to swimming pools in both Arabic and English in a clear place poolside.
