Delhi Capitals beat IPL table-toppers Kolkata Knight Riders by 44 runs at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in their IPL 2022 match on Sunday. DC openers David Warner (67 off 45) and Prithvi Shaw (51 off 29) got half-centuries, and former KKR bowler Kuldeep Yadav (4-35) got three wickets in his last over, as the Capitals came up with a dominant performance to end their 2-match losing streak.

Following the memorable victory, Delhi Capitals players huddled up at their dressing room at the Brabourne Stadium. Opener Warner, who had joined the team in 2022 after a horror season with SunRisers Hyderabad, led the dressing room celebration that was charged up.

Delhi Capitals posted a short clip of their team celebrating in the dressing room, with the opener asking the team “How’s the Josh” and the team replying “High sir”, imitating the iconic scene from the Bollywood movie Uri.

David Warner and Prithvi Shaw had a 93-run partnership in just 8.4 overs that laid the foundation to achieve a massive total of 215, which was the highest run chase so far this season. Khaleel Ahmed (3-25) picked up two top order wickets but it was Kuldeep Yadav who made all the headlines, getting four wickets against his former side.

After losing the toss, Delhi Capitals were successfully able to defend a target of 215 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders. After experiencing back-to-back defeats against debutants Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans, Rishabh Pant’s men made a comeback with a dominating performance against KKR.

Delhi Capitals sit in 6th place with 4 points while Kolkata Knight Riders are still at the top of the table with 6 points.

Delhi Capitals will play Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 16th at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
