The New Pornographers have announced a 21st anniversary reissue of their 2000 album Mass Romantic. It’s out December 10 via Matador, arriving on red vinyl with the accompanying Letter From an Occupant 7″ (which includes the rarities “The End of Medicine” and “When I Was a Baby”).
The band has also announced a 2021 tour of the United States and Canada, where the group’ll perform the albums Mass Romantic and Twin Cinema on different nights. The tour lineup includes AC Newman, Dan Bejar, Joe Seiders, John Collins, Kathryn Calder, Neko Case, and Todd Fancey. Find the dates.
“Everyone wants to be successful but, hand to my heart, I had no delusions of success for The New Pornographers,” Newman said in a statement. “To be here over 20 years later, still in the game, is something that I simultaneously take for granted (you just get used to it) and feel eternally grateful for. Been here so long that we can do one of those ‘let’s play that old album all the way through!’ gigs.”
