Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen Leads NFL MVP Betting

If you take a keen interest in sports betting and have a penchant for long-term NFL wagers, then the MVP race is always going to be one that interests you. It’s a betting market that fluctuates a great deal and can, in some cases, earn you a nice lucrative payout though you may well be better suited to sticking to a safe bet rather than chasing the longshots too often.

When the 2022 season started, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen was the favorite with most sportsbooks, and you can see at www.sidelines.io that Sean McDermott’s side are heavy favorites to clinch their first-ever Super Bowl triumph.

There is a sense that a change of the top order is really taking hold in the NFL. In recent seasons Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers have led the way both on a personal level and also in terms of what their respective teams have achieved, but the new rivalry that is really starting to take hold comes in the form of Allen versus Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

Allen has gone off like a train in 2022. He’s only the third player in NFL history to hit at least 2200 yards (passing and rushing) after six games of the regular season. Steve Young and Kurt Warner are the other two to manage that feat.

Josh Allen is into his fifth season at the Highmark Stadium and has been a consistent performer at the highest level. He’s driven the Bills to the post-season in each of the last three seasons and continues to post very impressive numbers.

Interest in Allen with regards to NFL betting has seen over 16% of NFL MVP bets being placed on the Buffalo QB, with Mahomes in second place, Russell Wilson in the third spot, followed by Lamar Jackson and Justin Herbert.

Collectively the Bills are enjoying their best spell since the early 1990s, when they reached the Super Bowl on four consecutive occasions (losing the Dallas Cowboys twice, the New York Giants, and Washington).

Sean McDermott arrived in 2017 and got the Bills through to the playoffs in his first season in charge after 17 seasons of relative failure. Over the course of the last two seasons, they’ve been dumped out by the Chiefs, and Mahomes and Allen will be looking for a measure of revenge this season.

The pairing of McDermott and Allen is one that looks likely to usher in an extended era of success for Buffalo.

The popularity Allen enjoys as a Bills star player is at an all-time high, so much so that residents of Westbrook, Maine, have been told not to vote for the 26-year-old NFL star as the city’s mayor because (unsurprisingly) he’s not on the ballot!

Next up for the Bills, following their game week seven bye, is a potentially pivotal clash with underperforming Green Bay, with Aaron Rodgers seeking to outshoot Allen in the battle of the quarterbacks.
