Yamaha has introduced a new MotoGP edition version of its Aerox 155 maxi-scooter in the Indian market at a base price of Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom). The move comes just after it was announced that MotoGP is all set to mark its entry in India next year under the ‘Grand Prix of Bharat’ name.
It should be noted that Yamaha had previously introduced the MotoGP edition of the Aerox 155 around the beginning of this year, however, the stock was soon sold out. Well, it looks like Yamaha saw that there’s adequate demand, and decided to reintroduce the special edition version of the sporty maxi-scooter.
As compared to the standard Aerox 155, the MotoGP edition features Yamaha Monster Energy MotoGP team’s livery. The scooter features a black primary colour, with Monster Energy decals on the visor, front apron, mudguard, side panels, and rear panels. There are also a few blue accents here and there.
Apart from the new livery, no other changes have been made to the scooter. That said, the Aerox 155 makes use of a 155 cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that puts out 14.8 hp of max power and 13.9 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a CVT automatic transmission.
The regular version of the Yamaha Aerox 155 is currently priced at Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom), which means that the MotoGP edition is being offered at a premium of Rs 2,000. Other colours on offer with the maxi-scooter include Metallic Black, Racing Blue and Grey Vermillion.
